The Commander of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA), Abia State Command, Commander of Narcotics Chigbu Odoemelam Chilee, on 10 March 2026, paid a courtesy visit to the Nigerian Navy College of Accounts and Finance (NNCAF), Owerrinta, Abia State. The visit was aimed at strengthening collaboration between the Nigerian Navy and the NDLEA, particularly in addressing illicit drug trafficking within Abia State.
In his remarks, Mr Chilee emphasized the importance of the fight against illicit drugs in curbing criminal activities within the state. He expressed appreciation for the support received from the College, noting that the Commandant has consistently cooperated with the NDLEA in facilitating their operations. He further commended the recent arrest made by the College’s internal security team, describing it as a clear indication of the strong backing the agency enjoys from the institution in apprehending drug-related traffickers.
Responding, the Commandant, Commodore Babatunde Quadri, expressed appreciation for the visit and reaffirmed the College’s commitment to sustained collaboration and cooperation with the NDLEA. He assured the State Commander of the College’s continued support in efforts aimed at combating drug abuse and trafficking within the state. The visit concluded with the signing of the visitors’ book, exchange of souvenirs, and a group photograph at the College Administrative Block.
