The Nigerian Navy College of Accounts and Finance (NNCAF), Owerrinta, on Friday, 24 October 2025, held its 8th, 9th, and 10th Combined Convocation Ceremony. The event, which was held at the College’s Auditorium, marked another milestone in the College’s commitment to excellence in academic training and professional development.
During the ceremony, 55 students from the Departments of Accountancy, Business Administration and Management as well as Office Technology and Management, were awarded the College’s National Diploma (ND) and Higher National Diploma (HND).
The event was graced by several dignitaries, including the Executive Governor of Abia State, Dr. Alex Chioma Otti, OFR, who served as the Special Guest of Honour, represented by the Special Adviser to the Governor on Security, Commander Macdonald Ubah (rtd). Other dignitaries in attendance included the Chief of Training (COT), Naval Headquarters (NHQ), and Chairman of the Governing Council, Rear Admiral CE Atebi, the Flag Officer Commanding Naval Training Command (FOC NAVTRAC), Rear Admiral RO Obeya, represented by Rear Admiral AJ Siyanbade, and the Chief of Accounts and Budget (CAB), NHQ, Rear Admiral OO Olukoya, represented by Commodore UG Bala. Also in attendance were the Commander, 14 Brigade, Ohafia, and representatives of Commanders and Commandants of military formations and security agencies in Abia and Imo States.
Representing the Governor, Commander Macdonald Ubah (Rtd) congratulated the graduating students and commended the Nigerian Navy for its continuous commitment to training and capacity development. He urged the graduands to sustain the values of patriotism and discipline instilled in them by the College, noting that their honesty and diligence in managing the Navy’s resources would contribute significantly to operational effectiveness and national security.
In his address, the COT NHQ, Rear Admiral CE Atebi, stated that the convocation not only celebrated the success of the graduating students but also reflects the College’s continued recognition as a centre of excellence in accounting, finance, and related disciplines. He encouraged the graduands to be steadfast in upholding the Nigerian Navy’s core values of integrity, professionalism, and teamwork.
The Commandant of the College, Commodore BU Quadri while speaking at the event, charged the graduands to build upon the foundation laid during their training, remain professionally relevant and ethically grounded in their fields. He equally thanked the Chief of the Naval Staff for his visionary leadership and consistent support towards the College’s academic and infrastructural development.
The ceremony was concluded with the presentation of prizes to deserving students and group photographs.
