The Nigerian Navy College of Accounts and Finance (NNCAF) on Tuesday, 30th September 2025, organised a free medical outreach in Umuikaa Community, Isiala Ngwa South Local Government Area of Abia State. The outreach featured a range of free medical services including blood pressure checks, blood sugar screenings, malaria and typhoid tests, medical consultations, health education as well as distribution of medicines and insecticide-treated mosquito nets. Over 250 members of the community benefited from the programme.
The outreach was approved by the Flag Officer Commanding Naval Training Command, Rear Admiral RO Obeya and is in line with the strategic directive of the Chief of the Naval Staff, Vice Admiral Emmanuel Ikechukwu Ogalla, to foster cordial civil-military relations through non-kinetic engagements.
Speaking at the event, the Commandant NNCAF, Commodore BU Quadri, emphasized the College’s commitment to improving the well-being of its host communities. He stated that the exercise would alleviate some of the healthcare challenges faced by the residents and strengthen the bond of trust, mutual respect and cooperation between the College and its host communities.
The community leaders and residents of Umuikaa Community expressed appreciation for the gesture, noting its positive impact on the well-being of the people. The Palace Chairman of Umuikaa Community, Mr. Boniface Onwaogu, on behalf of the community, pledged continued support for the Nigerian Navy and called for the sustenance of such impactful initiatives.
